據（jù）不完全統計，現有壓縮機、風機、汽輪機、燃氣輪機、製冷機（jī）、膨（péng）脹機等“機類”標準750~800個；“泵”類標準860多個；“離心（xīn）機”標準60多個；“密封”標準230多個，總計標準數量（liàng）在2000個以上。上述統（tǒng）計僅局限於中國國家標準、行業（yè）標準，國際ISO標準以及美國、英國、日本、德國（guó）、法國等國的*標準和二個美（měi）國行業標準（zhǔn）（機械工程師協會標準和美國石油協會標準）。各級地方標（biāo）準和企業標（biāo）準以及其他國家的（de）各類標準則未包括（kuò）在內。

標準（zhǔn）所（suǒ）規定的（de）內容非常廣泛，有機泵產品的基（jī）本型（xíng）式與參（cān）數、性（xìng）能、名詞術語、標記（jì）、評價、尺寸（cùn）、通用技術（shù）條（tiáo）件、試驗方法、施工規程、驗收規範（fàn）、測量（liàng）方法、等級劃分等等，但大體可以歸納為設計、製造、安裝驗收三個方麵。也有些是機泵某些部件如閥片、鑄件、聯軸節的標準或某些（xiē）性能的規定，如（rú）有關（guān）振動（dòng）、噪聲、潤滑（huá）的標準等等（děng）。

標（biāo）準所牽涉的產品種類也非常多，以泵為例，有離（lí）心泵、計量（liàng）泵、螺杆泵、往複泵、水輪泵、潛水泵、油泵、清水泵、試壓（yā）泵、旋渦泵、低溫泵、真空泵、羅茨泵、分子（zǐ）泵、齒輪泵、泥漿泵、耐腐（fǔ）蝕泵、深井泵、水環泵、混流泵、軸流泵（bèng）、鍋爐給（gěi）水（shuǐ）泵、液下泵、注水泵、化（huà）工流（liú）程（chéng）泵、不堵式泵、無泄漏泵、塑（sù）料泵、消防泵等（děng）等，還有很（hěn）多。其名（míng）稱有些是按泵的常規分類方法劃分的如葉片泵、容積泵等，有些則是按用途劃（huá）分的如汙水泵（bèng）、衛生泵等，有些名稱（chēng）則比較隨意如擴散泵、液（yè）氮泵等。隻要有此類產品的生（shēng）產，有製定標（biāo）準的需求，通過一定的申請、批準手續就可能產生一個（gè）新的標準，但（dàn）有時內容也有相當的交叉、重複。就國內和國外的標準而言，則國內的（de）標準數量多於國外的標準。總（zǒng）的來說，像離心泵這樣應（yīng）用廣泛，產品（pǐn）生產曆史長久的泵類標準（zhǔn）比較多（離心泵相關標準的總（zǒng）數達到100多個），而像無泄漏泵這種迅速發展起來的新型（xíng）泵類標準則比較少。無（wú）泄漏泵目前可查到的標準共有7項，其中國外3項，國內4項，分別為（wéi）：

注：ASME是美國機械工程師（shī）協會(The American Society of Mechanical Engineers)的簡稱（chēng）；

VDMA是（shì）德（dé）國工程協會(the German Engineering Federation)的簡稱。

壓縮機類的（de）標（biāo）準包括壓縮機、風機、汽輪機、燃氣輪（lún）機、製（zhì）冷機等的標準，

其大體數量如表1 所示。從表1可看出國內標準數量明顯（xiǎn）多於國外標準數。

以上共計761個（國內414個、國外346個）

API，是美國石油協會(American Petroleum Institute)的簡稱。美國（guó）石油（yóu）協會是早也是成功的製定標準（zhǔn）的商會之一，從（cóng）1924年製定第一個標準（zhǔn）開始，至今維持著500項左（zuǒ）右標（biāo）準的修訂（dìng）、更新，其內容覆蓋整個（gè）石油（yóu）和（hé）天（tiān）然氣工業，為石油工業的安全生產、設計、製造、施工和安裝提供了技術保障，並獲得了巨大的經濟利益。API的標準包括防（fáng）腐和材料、檢驗、壓力容器（qì）和儲罐、電器、換熱器、管道、泄壓係統、儀（yí）表及（jí）控製、閥門、鑽探設備、油氣測量（liàng）標準等，其中機械設備方麵的標準主要是機泵標（biāo）準。API機泵標準是我（wǒ）國化工、石油和石化行業重要的參考標準。現將API有關（guān）機泵（bèng）標準列於表2。
